Unicycle
Unicycle at West Hill aims to promote the idea and practise of re-cycling, re-homing and re-using uniform and equipment.
From September 2022, the Department for Education states that all schools must take into consideration the impact that manufacturing clothes can have on the environment. At West Hill, we want to take this a step further.
When considering the costs to families that uniform can create, we offer the option to donate, swap and buy preowned and preloved items of uniform for all families.
At Unicycle, you can:
- donate outgrown uniform
- swap items of uniform for other sizes
- purchase discounted preowned uniform
- donate equipment, revision resources and school shoes when no longer needed.
Donated items should be clean and in good condition. When donating, please ensure all names and identifiers have been removed.
Event dates
There will be a Unicycle event taking place towards the end of each term, between the hours of 4pm and 5pm. Additionally, items can be donated, swapped or bought at any time throughout the year.
Look in the Upcoming Events section of the website for the dates of our Unicycle.
How to donate
Donations can be made during school hours to Reception. Please bring items clean and bagged, clearly labelled as Unicycle.
How to purchase
Unicycle will be available for purchase once every half-term. Alternatively, contact unicycle@westhillschool.co.uk or via Reception to make a request at any point in the year.
How to swap
Should your son need to swap a uniform item for another size, please contact school or unicycle@westhillschool.co.uk, and arrangements will be made.
Families in need
Please contact school through school reception or by emailing unicycle@westhillschool.co.uk, where a member of our staff will work with families to ensure uniform needs are discreetly taken care of.
