Champion Ex-student still Aiming High
Champion ex-student returns with inspirational words of wisdom
On Wednesday 21st January, ex-student, and no less than Commonwealth and British Featherweight Champion, Zak Miller, returned to West Hill to speak with a hall full of students from all year groups about his boxing career so far, his dreams and goals as a child and teenager, and his future goals – a world title is within his grasp!
Zak's work-ethic and key pieces of advice, such as putting the work in to gain the rewards, always giving the best account of yourself, and learning from setbacks to come back stronger were many of the words of wisdom shared during a Q&A session with Mr Battarbee, and our boys, in order to inspire them to go out and achieve whatever they set their minds to.
Zak also shared fond memories of life as a West Hill student and how our motto of 'Aim High' and the discipline learnt whilst at West Hill remains with him still.
Huge thanks to Zak for taking the time to come in to talk to our boys... and we wish him all the very best of luck with his upcoming bout to then run for a world title!
