Welcome to the Careers Department

Careers Vision Statement

West Hill School is committed to providing high quality careers education, information advice and guidance (CEIAG), for all our students. Embedded within our school mission and vision statements, our careers programme is designed to complement and enhance our whole school curriculum and is always supportive of students’ aspirations, strengths and skills. A planned programme of activities from year 7 through to year 11 supports students to develop a healthy understanding of themselves, empowering them to feel successful and make ambitious future choices in order to realise their aspirations.

Careers Strategy

Our strategic priorities to achieve our vision:

  • Embedding a comprehensive careers programme, fully mapped to the Gatsby Benchmarks and CDI Framework so that our career-related learning meets the needs of all our students.
  • Ensure that every student understands the full range of opportunities and pathways available to enable them to make informed and ambitious choices for their future.
  • Developing professional development and training so that every student has access to high-quality careers information and guidance from all members of staff or stakeholders.
