A day in the life of West Hill School at Christmas - jam-packed with festive events from start until finish! From the cheer of staff wearing Christmas jumpers and the cinema experience for our winning Christmas tree designing form group , to a charity Cake Bake in aid of @reubensretreat (£65 raised!) and Christmas lunch for all! Thrown into the mix, our wonderful music department and students somehow managed to find the time to play even more musical engagements in the community , and following the Y7 & Y8 event last night, our invitation-only Y9, 10 & 11 Celebration Evening will also be held later tonight too! In between all of this, over 150 lessons have taken place! Our boys and staff are very much feeling that Christmas is upon us *Other bakeries are also available

It's the final Headteacher's Recognition Reward of 2025! And whilst some of our Year 7s were on a Panto trip today, the rest of this week's highest achievement points recipients were enjoying praise and cake with Ms Cronin. We caught up with our Panto reveller on his return, though - oh yes we did! A particularly huge well done was given to our boys who, despite battling tiredness and illness at this time of year, keep showing up and giving their best There'll be no HRR on the very first week back after Christmas as our boys return to school on Tuesday 6th January, a double-wammy the following week, maybe?

Huge congratulations to one of our amazing Year 11 students who recently attended the British Biathlon selection races in Austria. The grueling weekend was made up of a 10km sprint on the Friday, followed by a 12km pursuit race on the Saturday - the Friday event being this young man's first ever race for the BBU (British Biathlon Union) Although he didn't get the result he wanted on the Friday, he learnt from it and moved onto the 12km pursuit - where he shot well and skied great! Such an impressive display of strength and resilience from an athlete so young - being the youngest British athlete, and turning just 16 whilst out in Austria He now hopes to fundraise for two regional events in the new year where the aim will be to score points to be selected for the Youth World Cup in Arber, Germany in March. This week, the Office for Anti-Bullying students will be visiting forms to do a "Candy Cane Gram" Students can pick one person in school another student or a member of staff to gift a candy cane to Next week, the Office for Anti-Bullying will deliver these during form time

Headteacher's Recognition Reward - Hugs of congratulations were shared between some of our boys today as they celebrated making it into Ms Cronin's office for their Monday reward together Hamza came and went (cake in hand!) - as he was eager to get back to his Business Studies lesson to continue with his revision - demonstrating why he's a high achiever with his responsible and determined attitude, and we also caught up with our final Christmas Card competition winner missing from Friday's presentation. Huge congratulations to you all, boys! Amazing achievements all around
