Year 10 students experience life in the NHS at university open day.

An insight into university life and the many roles available in the NHS made for a busy day for a group of Year 10s.

The day started at the Manchester Metropolitan University Union building with a student-led tour of campus. West Hill students experienced the impressive modern buildings, study spaces and social hubs that make up the University, whilst gaining an insight into courses, student life and expectations from the student ambassadors.

A short walk down the bustling student area of Oxford Road, passing the iconic buildings of The University of Manchester, and we reached our second event of the day – the MU NHS Open Day for young people. Over 25 stands and activities demonstrated the wide-ranging roles available within the trust, one of the biggest in the country, employing more than 280,000 people. Students gained an understanding of workplace environments, skills and qualifications required to succeed in one of the key growth sectors in Greater Manchester.
