Due to the hot weather, we open as usual every day this week but have planned early-afternoon school closures for later this week: Thursday 25th June 2026 - earlier closure. Friday 26th June 2026 - earlier closure. Please see your emails and the WHS app for more details, including exact timings. School will be open as usual on Monday 29th June 2026. Please stay safe. Apply suncream, drink plenty of water and stay well away from open waters. Don't be tempted to get in the cold waters, they present a real danger to life

Headteacher's Recognition Reward - Congratulations to our larger than usual gathering of boys for today's HRR. Not only were we celebrating our weekly highest achievers in the school for each year group, a number of boys were also invited along due to their standout conduct. During a recent visit to WHS by some of next year's Year 7s, a few current Year 7s helped with guidance and patient explanations, whilst Riley interacted well with his peers providing help and showing kindness during a recent university visit about robotics. All boys represented West Hill School amazingly well, demonstrating the West Hill Way, and deserved recognition for this. We also can't end this post without giving credit to one young man for achieving the highest points in the WHOLE SCHOOL a record FIVE times within one year! Huge congratulations to the very modest Harry, and huge congratulations to each and every student at Ms Cronin's table today. Great work from each of you!

Over the past three days, a group of our Year 9 students have taken part in the Greenpower Challenge at @tamesidecollege, where they designed, built, tested, and raced an electric car against other schools from across the region . We are incredibly proud to share that Team West Hill achieved an outstanding 2nd place overall and were also awarded the Innovation Award for their creativity, problem-solving, and engineering skills . The students were absolutely amazing throughout the entire event. They demonstrated exceptional teamwork, resilience, maturity, and determination, whilst developing their practical, technical drawing, and engineering skills. Their attitude and commitment were outstanding from start to finish, and they represented West Hill brilliantly . They should all be extremely pleased with what they have achieved

On Tuesday, we held our third Off-Timetable Day of this year. As well as our well-documented fundraising Fun Run , our boys also experienced a wealth of enjoyable activities based around the theme of 'Our Community'. They took part in graffiti workshops in Art , made community action plans in form groups, baked and decorated cakes for fundraising in Food , listened to voices from within our community, attended future skills and mental health workshops, and designed resources for our centenary competition . A huge thank you to our local guest speakers for their time, and also to @graffitistars.co.uk for sharing their amazing skills!
