The Languages Department is excited to announce that we will be running a trip to Barcelona in July 2024. The trip will be an unforgettable opportunity for students to experience the language and culture of the city first-hand, supporting classroom learning and bringing Spanish to life for students in years 8-10.

Proposed Tour Details

Tour Inclusions:

  • Travel from school to Manchester airport
  • Return flights to Barcelona
  • 2 nights’ accommodation
  • Meals on a half-board basis.
  • Transportation in Barcelona by train/tram/underground
  • All activities and excursions.
  • Travel from Manchester airport to West Hill School
  • Comprehensive Travel Insurance.
Itinerary

Visits to;

  • Barcelona Cathedral
  • The famous ‘La Boqueria’ food market, where we will practise ordering food in Spanish
  • Port Vell
  • Nou Camp football stadium (temporary exhibition)
  • The iconic Sagrada Família church
  • Park Güell, to view the work and influence of Gaudi.
Cost £550 per student subject to a minimum number of students and no air fare price increases
Payments and due dates:
  • Initial deposit of £220 required between 2nd-7th February 2024
  • Second instalment of £220 required by 25th March 2024
  • Third instalment of £100 required by 22nd April 2024

All to be paid via the school Gateway app.

Travel requirements:

All students require a current passport. Please ensure your son’s passport is valid for three months after the date of return. (Information correct at time of writing).

The school will require your son’s passport details 8 weeks before the departure date.

Non-EU passport holders may require a visa to enter Spain and you should check on the destination country’s government website to see whether this is applicable for your child.

The window of application for the trip will be open until February 1st 2024. If there are more applications than spaces, a random draw will take place.
