£750 000 major boost to our facilities
20 October 2021
We are excited to announce work will soon be starting to prepare for one of the largest single investments ever made to improve our school site. As the result of a successful bid to the Department for Education Condition Improvement Fund, a £750 000 project is underway to improve the external and internal fabric of our school buildings. The works will be completed by the end of this academic year.
Securing a quality experience for our boys
This is a significant investment in supporting an element of our vision:
Every stakeholder will benefit from a continual focus on improving facilities.
Realising this bid will help us overcome the issues associated with having a school environment that has been built upon and then extended over time. Plus, the difficulty of ensuring the facilities and their maintenance can keep on top of changing demands. Alongside this, some of our buildings have been subject to weathering and are not wind and watertight. This has an impact on the quality of experiences for our boys and staff, as well as the fact that constant repairs divert resources in an inefficient way.
We are working with our partners, AA Projects, not only on this investment, but as part of ambitious plans to enhance and further develop West Hill School, as we look ahead to the next 100 years in our timeline.
