We have visited Sri Lanka on a previous cricket tour and the cricket venues and hotels that we would potentially be staying in are absolutely fantastic. The duration of the tour would be for 12 days/10 nights and would visit the areas of Kandy, Galle and Colombo.
Sri Lanka is a cricketing ‘hot bed’ and an excellent place for the boys to experience cricket in a different environment whilst also experiencing the culture of a third world country. The boys would have an opportunity to play in an international standard ground which is an experience that very few other countries can offer. In addition, the boys would visit an elephant orphanage, have the opportunity to go on Safari, visit & climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress which is the eighth wonder of the world and have some time to relax on the beach. For more information, please see the SAMPLE itinerary attached.
The tour company we are going to use specialises in tours and holidays to Sri Lanka and is a company that has organised other trips that the school has recently undertaken.
The cost of the tour is expected to be around £2000 pounds per pupil; this will include all flights and accommodation on a half board basis and the various excursions and activities mentioned in the attached itinerary. I understand this figure may look daunting; however, the payments will be spread over 28 months to make the financial burden somewhat less. It will also be necessary to organise a fundraising committee to raise money for extra activities, some meals and kit.
