The LSU is a supportive working area for pupils with additional and learning needs, to support their learning and to ensure progress is made in their studies. The support unit is led by our Learning Support and Transition Manager and is supported both in the unit and out in the classroom by an experienced team of Learning Support Assistants.

The LSU encourages pupils to work independently or with support to ensure they are able to reach their full potential.  There are many uses of the LSU and these can include timetabled intervention lessons for either 1-1's and or small group work, a diagnosed specific learning need, emotional support, exam support and re-integration due to long term absence.

The LSU is in contact with various outside agencies and will attend meetings as and when required as well as providing parental/carer support.

The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCO) is Mr M O'Dowd, who can be contacted by ringing 0161 338 2193 or emailing
